- that time I was almost shot in Portland, Oregon
that time I was almost shot in Portland, Oregon
and how it impacts my priorities
I just wanted some vegan doughnuts…
But somehow it led to one of the scariest moments of my life.
If you’ve taken my life tracking course, you’ve heard this story already. But it’s worth sharing especially after the US elections 😭
(Also if you support Trump pls unsubscribe. And if you live in the US, please take care 🥺❤️)
“Who’s setting off fireworks at 4pm?”
bang! bang! bang!
I was waiting outside in line for vegan doughnuts when I heard it.
My first thought hearing gunshots wasn’t “I need to get down and hide.”
It was “who’s setting off fireworks, it’s only 4pm…”
It was only when a stranger pulled me down to the ground
That I realized what was happening.
We crawled into the doughnut shop together and huddled for more than 40 minutes.
During that time, I thought about what would happen if I was actually shot.
I realized I don’t have many regrets in life,
Because I feel like I lived every moment intentionally and to the fullest.
Now I live my life asking myself 1 question
“Would I have any regrets if I didn’t do this?”
I tend to regret things I don’t do more than things I do.
For example, a few days ago I hosted a live presentation session for the life tracking course.
I’m kind of shy sometimes, so I was excited but scared at the same time.
I even wanted to remove the live presentation from my course, so I could avoid having to talk to people 😅
But after hosting the session, I was glad I did it.
I would’ve regretted not pushing myself out of my comfort zone and hosting the session,
Because I would’ve missed out on such a fun, wholesome event 🥺
Event feedback ❤️
What can you do today that’ll challenge you to grow?
If you pushed yourself out of your comfort zone a little,
Just imagine what you could accomplish.
Because life isn’t always about being productive and getting things done…
But getting the right things done -
Things that contribute to your growth and goals.
That’s all for today! Thanks for reading ❤️
How was today's email? |
Kindly,
Jennifer
P.S. I’ll be rehauling my life tracking course based on student feedback and making it better. Expecting to launch the next cohort in December, but in the meantime, sign up for the waitlist to get an email as soon as it’s ready for enrollment!
