I tracked my time 24/7 for 2 years
the most important thing I learned
Announcement: I’m launching preorders for my ADHD Content Creator course at 90% off (price increases by end of day tonight) - check it out here.
“Why do you track everything? Are you optimizing for your health?”
I got asked this at a party once.
But the thing is…
I already know the “secret” to a long, happy life.
So I track my life data for a different reason.

The secret to a long, happy life
I started my 24/7 timer on a random day in August.
And kept it running (even across timezones when I travelled).
But life tracking isn’t new…
I used to track my happiness scores for a psychology course.
My professor asked us:
“What’s the best predictor for a long, happy life?”
“Not smoking?”
“Getting regular exercise?”
“Eating well?”
None of my classmates were right.
The answer was strong social ties.
Why I track my data
So if I already know what to prioritize (my relationships with others)…
Why do I track everything?
A few reasons:
To vibe check myself
Bc it’s fun 🤩
Vibe checking myself
The act of tracking will actually change my behaviour for the better.
Seeing the timer for how long I spent on my phone made me want to spend less time doomscrolling.
Tracking my protein intake made me opt for higher protein meals, without any extra meal planning effort.
The satisfaction of checking my “habit complete” box makes my day have a sense of completeness.
How tracking is fun
I don’t like working with numbers.
But it’s worth it because I love making beautiful data dashboards.
I’ve also journaled every day since 2015.
Sometimes I look back at specific days and laugh at all the funny moments I’d forgotten.
When I read back on my life, I realized I was at my happiest when spending time with people I love.
That’s why I went full-time on my own business:
So I would have time with loved ones instead of always working.
Because time is my most precious resource - one that I never get back once I’ve spent it.
Til next Monday,
Jennifer
P.S. Prioritizing my time so much is why I paid $6k for coaching and courses - because I don’t have time to sort through free resources online to see where to start. If you’re in the same boat, check out my ADHD Content Creator course 🫶 price increases by end of day tonight.
