Feeling overwhelmed with your to-dos? Read this.

How this helped my friend get things done

In partnership with

“Jen, I feel so overwhelmed…

I have to juggle 2 jobs, friends, exercise, and all these other things I want to do.”

My friend shared this with me last month.

Here’s what we did to make him send me these messages after…

And why I’m making a course outlining exactly what I taught him.

Feeling like you’re not using your time effectively?

I used to feel that way too.

Sometimes I still do.

But I went from spending 13 hours a day on my phone…

To just 3 hours.

(And usually 70% of that time is spent on content creation or travel apps, like CapCut/Camera and Maps.)

Introducing time audits

“Where does all my time go?”

I used to wonder this until I started tracking my time 24/7.

Now, I know exactly where my time goes…

It’s also helped my friend feel more in control of his time (and life):

How to track your time (the easy way)

Start with 46 hours

Why?

168 hours a week… now subtract:

- 56 hours (sleep; 8 hours a day times 7 days a week)

- 21 hours (chores, misc, hygiene)

- 45 hours (job - including transportation)

= 46 hours

Now start subtracting the hours based on where you want to spend time.

  • Friends and family

  • Side hustles

  • Hobbies

  • Exercise

  • Social media (scrolling vs talking to people)

  • Learning/personal development

Notice where your time goes this week

Now that you’ve set your desired hours for certain activities, pay attention to where you spend your time this week.

Was it in line with your goals?

Or are you spending time on things you didn’t account for?

Then, you can make adjustments in your habits next week to improve.

Life tracking online course

If you found this activity helpful, it’s part of what I cover in my unhinged life tracking online course.

It’s for you if:

  • You feel like you get distracted all the time and can’t get things done (I spent months searching for the perfect ADHD-friendly course platform)

  • You want to be more intentional with your time and spend it on what matters

  • You need structure and guidance rather than just watching a video (there’ll be hands-on activities/homework, deadlines, and examples)
