Life North Star metric examples
Number of days you’re excited to wake up for
Amount of time spent in nature
Number of times you laughed so hard you cried
Number of days you had fun with family and friends
Number of people positively impacted (this is mine)
What does a Life North Star metric do?
It gives you purpose.
It helps you decide which habits and routines will align with your values,
So you can optimize for your Life North Star metric.
Example
Since my metric was number of people positively impacted, I pushed myself to get better at public speaking and content creation.
I made a video every day just to get better at filming and editing.
How to figure out your Life North Star metric
Start with your values
My metric aligns with my values of compassion, optimism, and ambition.
Here’s a quiz that might help you figure out your values.
Figure out what actions align with those values
Example
A compassionate action I could take is helping someone improve their life by feeling more purposeful.
I came up with “number of people positively impacted” because I care about helping others, and that metric was a way for me to measure that.
Example 2
If one of your values is authenticity, a metric could be number of times you felt you were true to yourself (i.e. didn’t lie about what you wanted to do).

It’s for you if:
You feel like you get distracted all the time and can’t get things done (I spent months searching for the perfect ADHD-friendly course platform)
You want to be more intentional with your time and spend it on what matters
You need structure and guidance rather than just watching a video (there’ll be hands-on activities/homework, deadlines, and examples)
