Day 3 habit challenge: your values

It’s day 3 of the habit tracking challenge already!

Yesterday, we learned how your self perception impacts your accomplishments (and if you’re a day late, don’t worry - catch up on yesterday’s post here and leave a comment).

Today, I’ll share how finding your “why” (values) helps you stay consistent.

My “north star metric”

I picked 1 measurable thing to live by - it’s “number of people positively impacted.”

My friend’s is “number of times I laughed so hard I cried.”

My partner’s is “number of days I’m genuinely excited to wake up for.”

These all reflect our values:

  • Me: ambition, optimism, compassion

  • Friend: joy, relationships, fun

  • Partner: intentionality, authenticity

Your turn: what are your values?

You might subconsciously live by them already, but it helps if you can write them down.

When you connect your goals and habits to your values, it becomes a lot easier to stick to them.

Example values:

  • Honesty

  • Compassion

  • Health

  • Relationships

  • Openness

  • Adventure

  • Ambition

  • Acceptance

  • Courage

  • Creativity

  • Wisdom

  • Growth
