AKA why you feel like life is passing you by

In partnership with

Ever feel like time passes faster when you’re an adult?

That comes from neural adaptation -

And today I’ll be sharing how to slow down perceived time

So you can live more intentionally.

P.S. this is something that’s covered in my life tracking course, where one student shared “I have been more present and done more in the last few days than I have been able to in a while.”

Fear of missing out (FOMO)

“I have to check my emails.”

“I’m so busy, I need to do a million things before bed.”

“I feel bad for going out and having fun when I have deadlines to meet.”

I used to think like this while hanging out with friends,

So I could never be fully present and enjoy my time with them.

The reason? My fear of missing out (FOMO).

I feared losing out on getting things done if I “wasted time” on things that “didn’t matter.”

But after I tracked my life, I realized the things I didn’t want to make time for

(Like outings with friends)

Were the things that improved my happiness the most.

So why was I beating myself up over doing something I enjoyed?

Use addition, not subtraction

Instead of feeling like you’re missing out on something,

Reframe it into something you’re adding to your life.

Instead of constantly thinking the time you’re losing to get your work done,

Add a specific time to do the work later,

So you can focus on fully enjoying the present.

That’s why I created my life tracking course

It helps you be more present,

Live life according to your values,

And spend your time more intentionally.

One student even said:

I thought I wasted a week but instead, I had an exciting one.

Here’s how I get you to improve your life in the course:

  1. Set a Life North Star Metric

  2. Conduct a Time and Energy Audit (with a template)

  3. Set up daily, weekly, monthly routines

  4. Try using TTL method

  5. Use the project prioritization ranking system

  6. Use psychology (Zeigarnik Effect) to make habits easier

And a lot more.

Here’s a cheat sheet with everything the course covers.
